Week 9

2nd December – 6th December ♡

This week’s structure reflects a balanced approach to achieving my dual aims: refining my 3rd-floor model and developing my Pecha Kucha presentation.

With Monday as a day off, I enjoyed a visit from my mum, who had come down to London over the weekend. This time provided a chance to step back and unwind. On Tuesday, I dove into a focused work-from-home session to complete my object documentation file, dedicating time to organizing and finalizing this essential document and setting the stage for the hands-on tasks later in the week.

Wednesday and Thursday morning emphasised tangible progress in building the scale objects for my 3rd-floor model, blending technical precision with creative problem-solving. This hands-on work enhanced my understanding of the spatial design of my current project and prepared me for more nuanced tasks ahead.

Shifting to narrative work on Thursday afternoon, I began shaping my Pecha Kucha presentation, refining it further on Friday after receiving valuable feedback during the DPS tutorial. I aimed to ensure that my presentation slides effectively served as a visual aid for my talk, incorporating personal sketches to enhance it’s aesthetic appeal. Working on my presentation in the office also provided the opportunity to receive feedback from my colleagues, which contributed to enhancing the result.

In conclusion, this week has allowed me to deepen my understanding of spatial design through the creation of smaller details for my scale model, while also providing a chance to reflect on my internship experience. Developing my Pecha Kucha presentation allowed me to reflect on my experiences and express them in a clear and engaging way. Seeking feedback from my colleagues was invaluable, offering unique perspectives that enhanced the result. Overall, the balance between technical work and creative development this week has not only advanced my design skills but also strengthened my ability to reflect on and communicate my internship journey.
