3rd March – 7th March ♡

This week felt like a balance between rest and work, with moments of creativity, learning, and adaptation woven throughout.
Taking leave the week before and at the beginning of this week gave me the opportunity to travel and spend my birthday at home – a well-timed break. It was a chance to slow down, reflect, and enjoy time away from my usual routine.
Returning to work from home on Wednesday due to a last-minute train cancellation wasn’t the plan, but it turned out to be a productive day. A brief with Ellie set the tone, giving me direction for the tasks ahead. The main focus was beginning to experiment with display stand options for an exhibition – this was a process that required both practical problem-solving and creative thinking.
Back in London and back in the office on Thursday, the day began with a breakfast meeting – an uplifting change from the usual routine. Building on my experimentation from the previous day, I developed three options for the display stands, marking a solid step forward. A highlight of the day was the lunch and learn session, as these moments of collective learning consistently provide fresh perspectives. In the afternoon, receiving feedback from Gary, one of the directors, was another key moment; his insight helped shape my approach and further refine the options.
On Friday, while working remotely, I attended my weekly DPS tutorial, which consistently provides valuable guidance and structure. Upon returning to work, one of the more engaging tasks involved creating a file to initiate a material library for a exhibition – an endeavour aimed at establishing a long-term resource rather than a singular, isolated task. Additionally, I contributed to an existing file of image props featuring people, expanding upon the current collection. Both tasks were essential in enhancing the overall impact of the project. Moreover, I found them particularly enjoyable, as I take great satisfaction in organisation.
This week highlighted the importance of flexibility – whether it was adjusting to working from home unexpectedly or experimenting with different display stand ideas. It also reinforced how much I enjoy hands-on problem-solving, refining ideas based on feedback, and building resources that will be useful down the line.
