This week was a vibrant blend of productivity, creativity, and collaboration, marked by significant personal and professional milestones

9th December – 13th December ♡
The week began with a productive follow-up briefing with Ellie, a designer at Casson Mann, which provided enhanced clarity and direction for the 3rd-floor model. Drawing from the briefing, I turned insights into actionable steps, refining the physical 3D model by adding additional walls and adjusting floor heights. In the afternoon, I shifted my focus to completing the object documentation file, feeling a sense of accomplishment as I finally checked that task off my list.
Working from home on Tuesday gave me the chance to concentrate fully on my Pecha Kucha presentation. An afternoon tutorial with Chole proved invaluable, as her feedback offered clarity and direction for my final presentation. I spent the day refining slides, experimenting with visuals, and practicing my timing. It was a day dedicated to honing my communication skills, with a strong focus on storytelling – a vital element in museum and exhibition design.

Pecha Kucha Day
Presenting my journey and hearing about everyone else’s internship progress was an incredibly insightful experience. Sharing my work in front of an audience felt like a significant moment of growth, and the feedback from peers and tutors was both encouraging and motivating. Reflecting on the day, I feel proud of how far I’ve come in my design journey. So far, this internship has been a transformative experience and a significant stepping stone. I am excited to continue exploring how to bring stories to life in meaningful ways.
Leading up to the Christmas Party…
Thursday was a blend of focused work and a meaningful creative break. I began the morning by refining the physical 3D model with a heightened attention to detail. Midway, I took a break to cut out images for Corinne’s farewell scrapbook—a refreshing and cathartic shift from my usual tasks. Corinne, who has been a designer at Casson Mann for 12 years, started her journey as an intern, just like me. This week marked her final days at the studio. The afternoon was dedicated to assembling the scrapbook, a collaborative effort as part of a surprise the team had been planning for her, set to unfold during Friday’s Christmas party. The experience underscored the importance of relationships and celebrating shared milestones, even amidst a busy schedule.

The week concluded on a festive yet emotional note with the Christmas party. It was a day to step away from work, reconnect with colleagues, and embrace the holiday spirit. However, it was also bittersweet, as we bid farewell to Corinne on her last day at Casson Mann. Although I hadn’t known Corinne for long, her comforting presence left a lasting impression on me. Even our briefest conversations had a way of putting me at ease during my early days with the team.
As the day unfolded, the surprise that we planned went off perfectly, creating a heartfelt moment to laugh, cry, and reflect on Corinne’s departure. It became evident just how deeply she had impacted the team and how much she would be missed. The shared stories and laughter were a poignant reminder of the joy and connections that make this journey so meaningful.

Overall, the Christmas party was an incredibly enjoyable and eventful day, thanks to Elle’s meticulous planning. We exchanged Secret Santa gifts, shared a special falafel lunch (a heartfelt nod to Corinne!), played games, made friendship bracelets, and capped it all off with a cooking class that led to a delicious dinner. It was a day filled with much laughter – a truly unforgettable celebration!
