Week 3

21st October – 25th October ♡

Reflecting on the week, it feels like each day was a deliberate step toward completing a larger picture. On Monday I started working on my diagrammatic illustration, a task that felt both challenging and rewarding. I had to ensure that I effectively communicated the key elements of the brief to our client. The afternoon brought a particularly delightful break – a cake celebration for Donacio’s birthday. It’s these small moments of connection that refresh the mind and foster a sense of community within our team. The mix of focused work and camaraderie set a positive tone for the rest of the week.

On Tuesday I had a slow start to the workday since I was out of the office until 11:50 am. Once back, I resumed the diagrammatic illustration, pushing it further along. I delved deeper into the intricate details, incorporating newly received feedback into my work, and soon the illustration was completed. The internal meeting later in the day served as a valuable catch-up, allowing me to align with my colleagues and shift gears into organizing and writing the finalised version of our object notes. There’s something satisfying about transitioning from creative work to structured documentation.

Wednesday and Thursday were primarily dedicated to completing object documentation. The mornings were productive, and I appreciated the opportunity to consolidate my thoughts and findings to Virna and Weimeng. By Thursday afternoon, I found myself in a similar celebratory mood, as we gathered once again for cake to celebrate Becca’s birthday. I was reminded once again of the importance of balance.

As I reached Friday, the week commenced with a mix of learning and creativity. I participated in my weekly DPS tutorial, and later in the office, an engaging workshop on sustainability in materials. The afternoon was particularly fulfilling, as I completed the final object notes and began a new task – creating a 3D model. This transition felt like a natural progression, bridging my recent work with new, innovative ideas. I am excited to carry this momentum into the upcoming week, continuing to explore the intersections of creativity and detail in my work.
